Royal College of Surgeons England
The Royal College of Surgeons England are the authors of the Curriculum Framework outlining the standards by which SCPs are trained. They have also published many important documents with direct relevance to us as a group, some of which are linked below. The opportunity also exists to join RCS England as an associate member.

The Royal College of Surgeons England provides Speciality Updates for their members (including associate members). Updates are concise email summaries of the latest evidence in a particular surgical field, designed to support the surgical team in their use of evidence, guidelines and new technology in their practice. New editions are sent directly to your email once every two months, and the archive is available to browse through the library catalogue. Read more.

Within the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh is the Faculty of Perioperative Care. The aim of the Faculty is to offer support and career development opportunities to practitioners such as SCPs with regards to education, training and the setting of RCSEd-accredited standards.

Association for Perioperative Practice
The Association for Perioperative Practice is a professional body for healthcare workers. Its stated aims include "the promotion of high standards of perioperative care, the exchange of professional information between members and co-operation with other professional bodies".
